Frequently Asked Questions

We've done our best to answer everything you might be thinking. If something's still unclear or not covered here, just bring it to the call

Is Online Physio for me?

It's right for you if any of these sound familiar.

✔️ You've spent hundreds, sometimes thousands, on physio and rehab with only short term relief to show for it.

✔️ You've been given exercises to do at home, but with no clear explanation of why they matter or whether they're actually working, motivation to keep going was almost impossible.

✔️ Your pain flares up and your next appointment is days away with no support in the meantime.

✔️ You've never been given a clear plan, clear timelines, or a clear explanation of what's actually causing your pain.

✔️ You're tired of the same basic band exercises and bodyweight movements every week with no real sense of progress.

If that sounds like you, you're exactly who we built this for.

One key difference worth knowing upfront: we don't charge per session. You're paying for an outcome, not our time. That means we stay in it with you until the job is actually do

How does the Initial Assessment work online? Can you really diagnose me without seeing me in person?

This is a great question and worth answering properly.

Our baseline assessment is built around specific movement and strength tests that you perform in the comfort of your own home.

Every test is chosen because it replicates the exact positions and load demands of your goal - running, lifting, whatever it is. We're not guessing based on what we can feel with our hands. We're measuring how your body actually moves and loads under conditions that mirror real training.

From those tests we can identify which areas are underperforming, which are compensating, and where the excess load is ending up. That's what tells us the root cause.

Josh spoke in the video about the load distribution and the five areas each doing 20% of the work - the testing is how we map out exactly what yours looks like.

How long will it take to get pain free?

We won't give you an arbitrary timeline, because that's not how this works. And honestly, any physio who tells you "six sessions and you'll be fine" before they've even assessed you is guessing.

What we can tell you is that progression through the pathway is benchmark-driven, not time-driven. That means if you hit your targets on a Tuesday, you move to the next phase on Wednesday. There's no waiting around for your next appointment slot. There's no artificial pacing to fill a block of sessions.

Most of our clients start to see meaningful changes within the first few weeks. Full progression through all five phases varies depending on where you're starting from, how consistently you train, and what your goal is.

Traditional physio has a financial incentive to keep you coming back. The longer you're there, the more they earn. We work differently. Our goal is to get you through the pathway and out the other side as efficiently as possible. That's why we have a graduation phase - a defined endpoint where you complete the programme, have the tools to self-manage, and leave with complete confidence in your body.

I'm really busy. How many sessions per week will I need to do?

The plan is built around your life, not the other way around.

Because everything is online, there's no commute, no waiting room, no rearranging your day around an appointment slot. Going on holiday? We adjust the plan to what you have access to. Work gets hectic? We scale accordingly. Life changes and the plan changes with it.

A lot of our clients actually find they get time back. When you have a clear plan, proper structure and daily support, you stop wasting hours second-guessing what you should be doing and whether it's actually working.

The best rehab programme is the one you stick to. We're big believers in this fitting into your life rather than taking it over.

Do I need hands-on treatment to get better?

This is probably the most common concern we hear, and it's worth addressing directly.

Hands-on treatment - massage, manipulation, soft tissue work - can provide short term relief. We're not saying it's useless. But if it were enough to fix the problem long term, you wouldn't still be dealing with the same pain after multiple rounds of it.

The reason it doesn't last is the same reason the pain keeps coming back. It addresses the 20% you can feel - the symptoms - without touching the 80% underneath. The compensation patterns, the strength deficits, the movement dysfunctions that have been building for years.

You don't need someone's hands on you to fix those things. You need a structured, progressive programme that actually addresses them.

How much does it cost?

We don't list a fixed price here because the right programme depends entirely on where you're at, what your goal is, and what you actually need. That's what the discovery call is for.

What we can say is this. A typical physio charges £80 or more per session. If you're going once a week, that's over £300 a month for four 30-minute appointments and a sheet of exercises. Most of our clients spent hundreds, some over a thousand pounds, going through that cycle repeatedly before finding us.

Inside ReBuild, you're not paying per session. You're paying for a result, with a clear endpoint. We also have instalment options so that cost is never a barrier to getting the support you actually need.

If we're a good fit after the call, we'll walk you through exactly what's involved and what the investment looks like.

How will you know if I'm doing my exercises correctly?

You can send as many videos as you'd like into our app for direct feedback. We don't progress the rehab until we can see that you are performing every movement correctly. Think of it as having a physio in your pocket.

Do I need a gym membership?

No. Everything is tailored around what you have available, whether that's a fully equipped gym, a home setup, or somewhere in between. The exercises are specific to you, not to a particular environment.

Can I use health insurance to cover the cost?

Every provider is different, but if your insurance allows self-payment with reimbursement, there's generally no issue. We'd provide a full invoice you can submit directly to your insurer.

The best first step is to check with your provider before the call. If you have any questions about what we can provide from a documentation side, just ask us and we'll sort it.

What if you can't help me after I sign up?

If we get to your initial assessment and find that we're genuinely not the right fit to help you, we'll tell you immediately. You'll receive a full refund, no questions asked, and we'll point you toward the people we believe can actually help.

Do I need to stop training completely while I'm rehabbing?

In most cases, no. And we'd actively avoid that where possible.

Pulling someone out of training entirely, especially someone for whom exercise is a big part of their identity and mental health, isn't a good outcome. Our goal from day one is to keep you moving in whatever capacity your body can handle, while the rehab work builds the capacity it currently lacks.

What that looks like in practice varies. Some people need to modify what they're doing temporarily. Some can continue almost as normal while we work on the underlying issues in parallel. It depends entirely on what your assessment shows and what your body can tolerate without aggravating things further.

What we won't do is tell you to rest and come back in a few weeks. That's not a plan.

What injuries and conditions do you work with?

The short answer is any lower limb or lower back issue that's affecting your ability to train and exercise the way you want to.

That includes - but isn't limited to - knee pain, runner's knee, patellofemoral pain, IT band issues, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, stress fractures, ankle sprains and instability, hip pain, hip impingement, groin issues, hamstring injuries, lower back pain, disc-related issues, sciatica, ACL rehab, MCL injuries, and meniscal irritation.

If you've been told you have a specific diagnosis and you're not sure whether we can help, the best thing to do is bring it to the discovery call. We'll give you an honest answer about whether we're the right fit.

How is this different from seeing a specialist/consultant?

A good specialist is genuinely valuable, and if you need surgical input, we'll always point you in that direction.

But a specialist appointment is typically a one-off assessment. You get a diagnosis, maybe a referral, maybe some exercises. What you rarely get is a structured long-term programme, daily support, and someone tracking your progress week by week until the problem is actually solved.

That's the gap we fill. We're not replacing specialist input where it's needed. We're providing the thing that comes after it - or instead of it, for the majority of injuries that don't require medical intervention - which is a thorough, progressive, benchmark-driven rehabilitation process with a team behind you the whole way through

Most of our clients had already seen a specialist before they came to us. The scan was done, the diagnosis was made, and they were still stuck because nobody had actually fixed the underlying problem.

Do I need a scan or medical clearance first?

Not necessarily, and in most cases a scan isn't going to change what needs to happen.

MRI and X-ray results show structure. They tell you what something looks like, not how it's functioning or why it's causing pain. We see this regularly - people come to us with significant findings on a scan, a disc bulge, degeneration, structural changes, who go on to make a full return to training. And we see people with clean scans who are still in serious pain because the functional problem was never addressed.

If you've already had a scan and you're not sure what it means for your rehab, send it to us before your call. If we think you need further medical investigation before we start, we'll tell you that honestly. But in most cases, the right next step is to start addressing the root cause.

How long do I have to commit for?

This is one of the things that makes ReBuild genuinely different.

We don't sell 12-week programmes or 6-month packages. There's no arbitrary timeline, because your body doesn't work to one. You progress when testing shows you're ready, and you graduate when you've completed all five phases. Simple as that.

In practice, the quickest we've seen someone complete the full pathway is 13 weeks. The longest is 18 months. Most people land somewhere in between.

The way it works financially is straightforward. There's an initial onboarding period plus four weeks to get you assessed, set up and into the programme properly. After that you move onto a monthly basis, so you're never locked into a long contract upfront.

We're not incentivised to keep you longer than you need to be here. The goal is always to get you through the pathway and back doing what you love as quickly as your body allows.

I have a race or event booked - can you work around that?

Yes, and we do it all the time.

We're not dictators. If you have something booked, we'll work with you around it. We'll give you an honest picture of where you're at, what's realistic, and what the pros and cons of different approaches look like - and then the decision is yours.

What we will always be straight with you about is this: our goal is to get you pain free as quickly as possible, but for the long term. Not just to get you to the start line of your next event and hope for the best.

If you're looking for a short term fix to patch things up for one race, we're probably not the right fit. What we do takes commitment, and it's designed to keep you pain free not just for the next few months but for the next 5, 10, 15+ years.

It makes no sense to go through this process, get you feeling great, and then have you back in the same position 3 years down the line. That's exactly the cycle we're trying to break.

So yes, we'll meet you where you are. But we'll always keep one eye on the bigger picture, because that's what actually serves you.
